101st DKG Annual Meeting

With six participants, the CME was well represented at the 101st Annual Meeting of the German Ceramic Society (DKG). The three-day conference took place in Augsburg and was attended by 193 participants from nine countries.
Susanne Wüstner and Florian Schwedler took part in the Hans-Walter-Hennicke Lecture Competition and presented their master’s theses on the topics of the development of oxide CMC and in-situ SiC-bonded SiC and Si₃N₄, respectively. Based on the decision of a panel of experts, the three best presentations out of a total of eleven were awarded prizes at the joint evening event. Susanne Wüstner was voted to an outstanding third place.
Prof. Stefan Schafföner and Felix Lindner contributed with presentations in the individual sessions on the topics of polymer resin systems for CMC and the sintering of oxide-based CMC. Nina Richter presented on paste printing with non-oxide pastes in the DKN Young Researchers session.
