CME at the Humboldt Foundation Annual Meeting 2026 in Berlin
29.06.2026
Three Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellows from our Chair had the honor of attending the Annual Meeting of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, held in Berlin from 24–26 June 2026.
The meeting brought together Humboldt Fellows and their families from around the world and provided an outstanding platform for international scientific exchange and networking. The program opened on Wednesday at the Freie Universität Berlin, where participants were welcomed by the vibrant rhythms of a percussion ensemble, followed by official welcome addresses and an inspiring scientific lecture by the 2021 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Benjamin List.
A special highlight of the meeting was the official reception hosted by the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, at the Humboldt Forum, reflecting the strong recognition of research and academic collaboration at the highest level. In his address, President Steinmeier emphasized the importance of international scientific exchange and cross-border research networks in addressing global challenges.
The scientific program also included the Humboldt Lunchtime Fair at Technologiepark Adlershof, organized by WISTA Management GmbH. The fair featured scientific discussions, lectures, and guided tours of research facilities, offering insights into interdisciplinary research and innovation on the Adlershof campus.
Overall, the meeting was a deeply inspiring experience. From the very first keynote lecture, three guiding words resonated throughout the event and among all participants:
“Enthusiasm! Try something different! Aim high!”
These ideas captured the spirit of the Humboldt community and will continue to motivate future scientific endeavors and collaborations.
