Work group "Powder Technology"

The work group "Powder Technology" investigates the interaction between organic additives and particle surfaces in ceramic suspensions. This includes the development of powder preparation and forming technologies for the production of ceramic components.

The team focuses the research on all aspects of ceramic processing. Starting with the modification of particle surfaces, the research topics include the process controlling and manufacturing of ceramic prototypes.

The development of manufacturing processes for the fabrication of oxide fiber composites (OFC) has been a main research area over the last few years, including a freeze-drying route, a prepreg route and a short fiber spraying process.

In cooperation with industrial partners aspects of upscaling are put into practice.
